Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to every locksmith service booked with Locksmith Cheap UK, whether by phone, through this website or by any other means. By asking us to attend, or by accepting a price, you agree to them.

1. Who You Are Contracting With

2. Booking a Call-Out

When you call we ask about the door, the lock and what has happened, so the locksmith arrives with the right equipment. We aim to attend within 15 to 30 minutes, 24 hours a day, but arrival times vary with traffic, weather and how many jobs are running at once. A stated time is an estimate, not a guarantee, and we will tell you if it slips.

3. Proof of Entitlement

We open doors only for people entitled to enter. Before starting, our locksmith will ask you to satisfy them that the property is yours, that you rent it, or that you otherwise have the right to be let in. Identification showing the address, a tenancy agreement, or a landlord or agent confirming by phone will normally be enough.

If that cannot be established, the locksmith will not proceed. This is not negotiable and is not a reflection on you. Where a locksmith has attended and cannot proceed for this reason, the assessment fee in our price list applies, because the visit has still been made.

4. Prices and Quotes

Prices are published on this site and confirmed verbally when you call. A firm price is agreed with you before any work begins, based on the job as described and as found on site. If the job differs from the description, the difference is explained and any change agreed with you before work continues. Nothing is added afterwards.

Published figures are starting rates. The final price is confirmed by phone before any work and, where an assessment is needed, on site before the locksmith starts.

5. Payment

Payment is due on completion, by the methods your locksmith offers at the time. The price agreed before work began is the price payable.

6. Cancellation

Cancellation is dealt with in full on our cancellation and complaints page, including when a right to cancel applies and when it does not. In short: where you have specifically asked us to attend to carry out urgent repairs, the statutory cancellation provisions do not apply to that work; for planned work and for anything additional we carry out on the day, a 14-day right applies and ends once the work is complete, provided you asked us to begin straight away and acknowledged that.

7. Guarantee

Parts and labour are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of the work, covering faults in the hardware fitted and in the standard of the work. It does not cover hardware since forced or tampered with, hardware affected by a separate incident after our visit, or a failure caused by wear on the door or frame that we identified and you chose not to have addressed. 8. Our Locksmiths

Every locksmith working under our name is DBS checked and fully insured. If anyone claims to represent us and you are unsure, call 0333 344 6467 and confirm before letting them start.

9. What We Are and Are Not Responsible For

We carry out work with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. Where we fall short, we put it right.

Some outcomes are inherent to the work rather than a failure of it. Opening a lock that has seized, or removing a key snapped inside a barrel, can leave the mechanism unusable and needing replacement; where that is likely, the locksmith explains it and agrees the position with you before starting. Existing wear to a door, frame or fittings that becomes apparent during the work is not something we caused.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for delay caused by events outside our reasonable control such as traffic, weather or road closures. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing affects your statutory rights.

10. Complaints

Email office@locksmith-cheap.co.uk with the address, the date and what has gone wrong. Our full process, including timescales, is on the cancellation and complaints page.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If the work was carried out in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep any additional rights available to you there.

The version published on this page applies to bookings made after it was last updated.
